On Thursday, June 28, 2012 three San Diego performing songwriters will share with you the joy they’ve gotten over the years from the music of Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, and Billy Joel. The three acts will work together as they remind you why these stars inspired not only them, but a generation of music lovers. The show consists of the three San Diego area songwriters and their band, leading the audience on a journey through the years and repertoires of Simon, Mitchell, & Joel, including both hits and album cuts.

Much of guitarist/songwriter/performer Joe Rathburn’s early inspirations came from the writing of Paul Simon. Delene St. Clair, songwriter/vocalist/guitar player and half of the husband and wife act Cahill & Delene, pored over and absorbed the early songs of Joni Mitchell. Pianist/vocalist and songwriter, John Foltz, looked to Billy Joel as someone whose music spoke to him. Throughout their careers they’ve continued to include songs by these favorite artists in their mostly original sets, simply because that music makes them feel good. They repeatedly enjoy the feelings they experienced upon first hearing such wonderful music each time they perform it.
